Commercial Unit Third-Party Guidelines

AtomFilms' ad-serving system is capable of deploying creative with a variety of third-party asset and tracking options. This document presents guidelines for third-party tracking/serving scenarios that can be used for commercials.

Note that third-party serving is different from third-party tracking.

Third-party Serving: The creative binary asset (Flash swf, gif or jpg) is hosted on a server other than AtomFilms' or Doubleclick's.

Third-party Tracking: An ad can track back to the client's tracking system for independent review of the Doubleclick impression results.

The features are not mutually exclusive: AtomFilms can combine serving and tracking in the same campaign.

This document describes the third party serving/tracking options that are available now. Our Doubleclick's AdSolution and our Pre-play 2.0 is much more flexible to develop support for other scenarios, but these may require some engineering lead-time. If a scenario is not described in this document, please ask your sales rep to review the client request or proposal.

This document describes third-party commercial options for content on the AtomFilms sites (atom.com). It does not cover other emerging content delivery outlets like Atom Hi-Def.

Third-Party Serving Options

Binary Asset Serving:
The baseline third-party serving scenario is that the client provides AtomFilms with a direct URL to the ad creative binary file (swf, gif, jpg), hosted on their server. The only requirement for this URL is that it must directly respond with the creative binary file, like:
http://someserver.com/someAdSwf.swf
The URL can reference server-side scripting, cgi-bin or some other another web-application, but it must respond with the actual creative binary.

Other Options:
AtomFilms currently does not support other third-party serving options such as third-party iframes or JavaScript files.

Third-party JavaScript support could be added for clients willing to work with AtomFilms on integration issues.

Third-Party Tracking Options

Pixel Tracking:
AtomFilms can add a 1x1 <img> tag to each piece of pre-play creative in a campaign. The URL for this <img> can be provided by the client and be served from their system. We will place this <img> tag immediately before the object/embed tag for the creative's swf.

JavaScript
AtomFilms can add a client-provided link to a third-party JavaScript include to each piece of pre-play creative in a campaign. We will place this <JavaScript> tag immediately before the object/embed tag for the creative's swf. This JavaScript code can execute many types of functions, including: Impression Tracking, Establish cookies for surveys.

The only requirement is that AtomFilms is allowed time to test that the client's JavaScript code does not interfere with the display of the game or film content.
