  2. Louis C.K. Talks About His New Show Louie And Making People Uncomfortable

Louis C.K. did an interview with Punchline Magazine as promotion for his new show on FX, Louie, which premieres tonight. Louis talks comedy, Ricky Gervais, and how uniquely creator driven his new show is. It’s a great read, and has me really, really stoked for the new show. Stay tuned tonight at 11 on FX after new episodes of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (now on Comedy Central too!), for what I’m sure is going to be a treat.

  3. The Footloose Remake Premieres This Thursday In LA

After hearing about the upcoming remake of yet another 80s classic, Footloose, video pals Dave Seger (from the upcoming Atom Series Top Rope) and Tim Marklevitz decided that the only thing to do was going to be to beat the major studios to the punch. So they got together with 54 of their favorite comedy video producers and did a scene-for-scene remake of Footloose.

Check out the trailer, which promises a pleasantly loose, diverse, and entertainingly mashed up evening. Though what do I know, I couldn’t tell you the plot of Footloose if you asked me, so maybe the original basically looks like this.

“Our Footloose Remake” Trailer from DaveAOK on Vimeo.

The Footloose Remake is going to have its world premiere this Thursday, July 1st in Los Angeles, at the Downtown Independent Theater, with screenings at 8pm and 10:15pm.

Some Atom creators and internet video favorites who made scenes include: Matt Sloan and Aaron Yonda (Chad Vader), Team Tiger Awesome (Last 10 Seconds Of LOST, Drunk Rocketeer), Mike Manasewitsch & Willy Roberts (The Curious Happenings About George Warrior), Aaron Moles (Return to Supermans), Christopher Ford (Stickman Exodus), Chris Cantwell (I’m From The Future) and Scott Gairdner (Juggalo News, Sex Offender Shuffle). It’s hard to say for certain, but there’s a good chance this will one day come through your town, so keep your ears open!

  4. Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge: Be Patient, Young Jedi

Now that the 2010 Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge submission period has ended, you guys have asked so, so many questions. Here are a few A’s to your Q’s.

    - Don’t worry guys, we’ll add you to the group. As long as you uploaded your film before the deadline (noon, June 24th) you’re fine.

    - We’ll announce finalists on July 22nd. In the meantime we’ll be contacting the finalists.

    - Don’t worry about your upload resolution. If you’re selected as one of the finalists, you’ll be contacted and have the opportunity to maximize your resolution.

    - We will delete any duplicate uploads we need to. DON’T DELETE DUPLICATES YOURSELF. Atom and Lucasfilm are reviewing all the links already, and you don’t want to ruin your chance at being seen, do you? ( I know the answer, and it’s “no”).

  5. Watch It: Windowless Van Edition

Watch It is a semi-regular series showcasing some of our current favorites in the the Atom Tournament. These are some of the best videos uploaded, and they’re all vying for cash, prizes and time on TV, so if we’re posting about a video you know it’s good, and you should… watch it.

Rarely is a video that’s so murdery this funny. If you’re in the market for a used, windowless, air tight, sound proofed van large enough for whatever act you want to commit discreetly, this is the dealership for you. Gross.

  6. Johnny B. Homeless – Beer Pong Adventures II

Bouncing around from couch to couch can be tough work. That’s why it’s a good idea to relax with a game a beer pong a few times a night. We got resident expert Johnny B. Homeless, star of our newest series Johnny B. Homeless, to help you out, dropping knowledge on how to drop any type of beer pong competition. For all your beer pong needs, check out BPong.com

The Venue: Ironic Drinking Games Party in Echo Park

Hipster parties are the best. They’re just like normal parties except everyone drinks twice as much because they are sad and awkward.

The only problem is couch space can be hard to find at the end of the night. Some of these hipsters take the homeless thing to a whole new level. I was at a party last weekend in Eagle Rock and some guy was there with a shopping cart!

The Opponents: Surprisingly Hot Hipster Girls
Hipster girls love me. They say they like the way I dress. Which is crazy ’cause I almost never change.

    The Strategy: Get The Glasses
I alway say one of the keys to beer pong is you gotta be able to see. Hipster girls almost always wear glasses, so you just ask to borrow their glasses and — BOOM! — you’ve eliminated one of their most important skills: seeing.

    The Outcome: Who Cares
There’s nothing drunk hipsters girls love more than taco trucks. And I’m guessing these ladies must have been high because they suggested we hit up the taco truck midway through the game! Plus they smelled a lot like kind bud.

One of them even let me crash on her couch and didn’t wake me up the next day until like 3pm in the afternoon. It’s like she had no job or something. Good times.

The Final Word: Hipsters are just like me, except they don’t pay their own rent and I have no idea how.

On a slightly different note, check out Johnny’s morning after at the sorority house.

  8. Tournament Winners Week 10: Mania Is Absolute

Another week, another truckload of money in this week’s Tournament. Absolutely Maniacal took home the top prize this week, winning both an Atom Pick (selected by our own Dan Fogler of M’Larky) and Top Plays. Every video in the top ten is pretty great, and the play count was really close between them all. Do yourself a favor and check them out…

  9. The World’s Biggest Video Game Conference Had Some Low Points Too

E3, the biggest video game conference, was last week. It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned this, but we work on the same floor as Game Trailers.com, so they put together this awesome “Lowlights” reel, of all the lowest moments of an event that they no doubt, have some deep rooted issues with. But don’t feel too bad E3 presenters, there are people who are agonizing over last weeks’ events even more than you.

  10. Atom Pick: Fogler Selects Absolutely Maniacal

A while back we asked Lt. Black (Dan Fogler) from the hit series M’Larky to select an Atom pick. He was looking for something in the spirit of M’Larky, something wild and dark and… maniacal. Luckily, Floaters comedy  came to our rescue with their short Baron Von Maniacal, the story of a twisted villain bent on revenge against an old nemesis in the most innocuous ways. Here’s what Lt. Black had to say…

My god what an evil bastard, wish we had more bad guys like him- it would certainly make my job a lot more fun- HOO-HA!”

Hit the jump for a Fogler favorite, and my favorite Fogler episode.
