Welcome, performers in Chicago SketchFest 2011! To celebrate all your performances this year (and yeah, The Internet), we’re creating a very special SketchFest edition of Atom’s World Famout Cash-Money Internet Comedy Tournament (henceforth the Tournament), the competition where the funniest videos win cash, stuff, and a slot on Atom TV on Comedy Central.

As Chicago SketchFest performers, Atom development executives will be picking their two favorite videos as a special Atom Pick to be played at Sketchubator, with a cash prize of $500, and an appearance on Comedy Central (pending certain legal requirements, see the complete rules for details).

All you have to do to enter is upload your funniest videos to Atom between December 6th and December 28th, and make sure the letters “CSCF” appear in the title of your video. We’re looking forward to seeing your videos.

Marijuana is awesome! It gets you high. It does other stuff I can’t remember right now…

And if Prop 19 passes, dope will be totally legal in California! It would be an amazing victory for pot smokers, glassblowers and Del Taco franchise-owners statewide! But the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010 is no laughing matter (…unless you’re super stoned. Then if you think about it, it’s kinda funny.) So come November 2nd, we want you to be able to make an informed decision about how to vote. That’s why we’ve found seven of the most informative videos the web has to offer about Proposition 19.

#1) Relax… Legally (Prop 19)

It’s with much pride, excitement, and a little sorrow, that we screened the epic finale to our blockbuster series, The Legend Of Neil moments ago in downtown LA. The cast, crew and fans gathered to give Neil and the gang one final toast, and throw one hell of a party. We watched the finale for a great series, drank a few beers with the cast,  and listened to Felicia Day talk about her “lady junk” on stage. It’s a night none of us will forget. Now, before this post goes full-blown-wedding-toast, take a look at our behind the scenes peak of the screening and after party.

We’ll have a slew of professional photos tomorrow, but in the meantime, here are some guerrilla photos from tonight’s festivities.

This week’s tourney was filled with emotional highs and lows. We laughed together, we cried together. It was an emotional roller coaster. And just maybe – just maybe – we learned a thing or two about ourselves along the way. The Au Pairs — Episode 2 took home top prize this week, but who won second and third place? You’ll just have to hit the jump to find out.

And remember, we’re all winners in the Tournament. The thrill of completion should be prize enough… but the cash, swag, time on Comedy Central, acknowledgment from legends in the industry, and development deals with Atom.com are nice too.

We’re all afraid of something. Sometimes you’re afraid of heights, sometimes it’s clowns, but unless you’re afraid of people dumping gallons of milk all over themselves, this video is pretty great.

Man oh man, you guys, thanks for tuning in to watch The House That Drips Blood On Alex both on the official site, and on our very special episode of Atom TV. If you missed seeing it on the Medium Screen (your TV), stay up late the Saturday before Halloween to catch a re-run at 4:15am/3:15c on Comedy Central.

That being said, the director of The House That Drips Blood On Alex, Brock LaBorde from Studio 8 was in the office the other day, and he mentioned that a bunch of you had posted response videos online, including a few of you who’d clearly just stumbled upon the video while flipping through Comedy Central late at night.

There are few Star Wars fans in the world as accomplished in their fandom. Even fewer collectors manage to turn their obsession into their livelihood.  Steve Sansweet  owns the largest Star Wars memorabilia collection, he served as the first official Lucasfilm fan ambassador, and was integral in the operations of our very own Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge. In a word, Steven Sansweet is bonafide. After nearly 15 years with Lucasfilm, though, Sansweet is moving on to other ventures.

What really makes Steven Sansweet so special, though, is the immeasurable impact he’s had on the people of the Star Wars fan community (and indirectly, fans world wide). He helped carve out a legitimate home for fans, and set a precedence of fan community Star Wars fans enjoy to this day.
