Jason Brannon and Thomas Lee, the creative minds behind Bent Tv and the Star Wars Gangsta Rap videos were kind enough to answer a few questions about rapping, inspiration and all things Star Wars. Take a peek at what it takes to make Star Wars Fan Film history.

Tell us what originally inspired you to make Star Wars Gangsta Rap?

You saw the preview at San Diego Comic-Con 2009 (that’s kind of a marketing phrasing, statistically I have to admit that you possibly did not see the preview at San Diego Comic-Con 2009), and now it’s finally (almost) here. The next edition of Star Wars Gangsta Rap is almost here. Next Tuesday, November 10th, the newest video from the amazing guys at Bent TV will be live right here at Atom.com. I just caught the whole thing, and I have to tell you, that shit is amazing. Look for amazing verses from pretty much all the luminaries from the Star Wars universe.

To whet your appetite, here’s the preview you saw (or maybe didn’t) at Comic-Con.

You guys are Mad Men fans, right? Sure, it’s kind of boring, and better heads then I can break down what actually happens each season, I just know that it’s crazy slow, kind of boring, and the furniture they use is really expensive now. Also, everyone smokes all the time and boy, everyone was really unhappy in the 60s!

Anyway, love it or hate it, the Mad Men style is unmistakable, and it’s given rise to some great parodies. In honor of the finale of Season 3, here are some of our favorites.

The guys from Front Page Films (and the Verizon ads that have been running on the site, coincidentally) have  a new series coming out hella soon. It’s called Hotel and we’ve built a snazzy video-wall to facilitate your perusal of the series. So the more attentive of you may have noticed that Atom is finally hooked up to Facebook Connect, the technology that lets you log in to sites using your Facebook account, and share stuff from those sites on your Facebook profile. This post, unfortunately, is not really for you, because if you’re attentive enough to notice that, then you’ve probably already set up your Atom profile.

This one’s for everyone else.

With Facebook Connect, you can use your Facebook profile to log in to Atom, to leave ratings for all of our videos, games and blog posts, and to comment anywhere we let you. That’s right, if you’re too lazy to create an Atom account, but you still have some kind of wise-ass comment or want to give something a thumbs down, just look for the Facebook logo, click it, and follow a couple short instructions, and hate away.

So, to sum up, you find yourself on a video at Atom:

1. You want to rate or comment.
2. You don’t have an Atom profile.
3. Just click on the Facebook Connect icons where you see them, follow the instructions and you’ll be logged in to Atom.

4. Hate away, jerks. Or not. I just know you’re too savvy to fall for flattery.

And don’t worry, this won’t post anything to your Facebook feed that you don’t want it to and it won’t spam your friends. We just want to make it as easy as possible for you guys to interact with each other, with the video and game creators, and with us. Oh, and we’re wildly entertained when you guys talk smack, as well.

Ok. So it’s last thing in the office on the night before Halloween (or Devil’s Night, as I was regrettably raised to believe) and just as I’m about to close up shop for the weekend here at Atom, I get word that Larry The Vampire and his girlfriend Tracy (stars of the very hilarious Intercourse With A Vampire) made an awesome video blog to wish everyone a happy halloween.

And here’s a Halloween post, just for the ladies (LADIEEEEEZZZZ!). Ladies, you know how you’re always trying to get in relationships with vampires? You’re all like, “I’m a girl, and I’m all about sexy vampire brooding hair and flashy clothes and being young forever and whatnot.”

You kind of have to imagine that last part in a real girly voice.

Matt and I were talking about this (after we talked about football and how much we love beers and driving seriously fast) and we came to the conclusion that vampires are pretty much the most bullshit possible monster boyfriend. I mean, if you’re open to a murdering, possibly not human, possibly not alive boyfriend, you should really look a little deeper at what the rest of the supernatural world has to offer.

And thus, the Monster Boyfriends list was born.

1. A Ghost (Matt)

I know what you’re thinking, “ghosts don’t have a physical presence in this world, how could they ever be better than a sexy, mousse haired vampire heart-throb?”
But consider this: if your boyfriend were to become a ghost for some unknown reason, they’d be forced to haunt you for all eternity. The very reason they exist is because of you. Sure, they’ll be a spectral, semi-transparent apparition of their former self, but you can’t beat the sort of commitment being haunted brings.
On the down side, they may cause interference on the tv, so plan on upgrading to cable. But on the up side, above all, they’re emotionally available.

Halloween costume choices follow pretty standard trajectories. If one doesn’t opt for the traditional spooky fare, it’s either a play on a pop culture icon or an attempt to sex-up something mundane:
