Every week, we give away $500 and airtime on our Comedy Central show Atom TV in the the Atom Showdown. Our tireless development team sifts through all of your uploads (literally yours) that come in to Atom and then we pit the two best videos against each other and make them fight it out for our approval and our cash (check out the showdown upload rules for all the life affirming fine print).

And now, each week, the Atom Editorial Staff will get together, flip a coin, randomly assign one of the videos to each of us, and we will call on our ill informed and hastily compiled opinions to debate the merits of each week’s Showdown Contenders. We bring you the Showdown Showdown: Week 3.

That’s right everyone, that above fictionalized exchange pretty much sums up the Showdown Showdown this week. Matt’s been busy working on a project with the fantastic Paul F. Thompkins that he’ll blog about next week, and then he went on “vacation” for his “anniversary.” We’ll be back next week with a special year end Showdown (and, of course, Showdown Showdown).

You know how you’re always asking about what we’re working on at Atom? We asked Ian Friedman, from our Original Content Team here at Atom to check in periodically with updates on some of the big name projects they’re working on.

Welcome to Atom’s first (and hopefully not last) production blog. We’re going to try to keep you guys updated as to the goings’s ons’s of Atoms’s development slate, all the videos and other projects we’ve got in the works. We thought that we could whet your appetites with some info about some of these projects as well as some background on the twisted folks that are creating them.

There are lots of things in the world that Max Silvestri does not understand. Or maybe he just doesn’t pay attention. Each week in this column, Max tries to figure a new mystery out by reading the work of the greatest democracy on Earth, Internet commenters.

“Wait, what? What spacecraft? We can go to space now?” That is what I said to Atom Blog Editor Andrew Ti when he told me about Virgin Atlantic’s new commercial spaceship, ingenuously called SpaceShipTwo. What a clever name! There are no spaces in the name because the ship removes the space from your head by building a ship around it. Right? I’m right. I should be an astronaut I am so smart and also athletic.

I hope you guys like fighting games and celebrities kicking the living mess out of each other, because if that is the case, I have some good news for you: we made a video game you will greatly enjoy.

It ’tis t’he season to buy stuff for each other, as it is, afterall, the holiday. So we’ve compiled a gift guide for those interested in “ha-ha-ing” out their mouth holes, or making other people do so.

The Outside Joke uploaded a slew of excellent videos (that you didn’t have to be there for) like the one above,  Slumber Party.

Shocking (and incredibly alleged) news! Tiger Woods allegedly had “sext” or “sex text” (or “text sex?”) with his mistress, allegedly texting her with such lines as:

“I will wear you out…when was the last time you got (bleeped)?”

and

“Send me something very naughty…Go to the bathroom and take (a picture).”

We were shocked to find out this (alleged) news, but even more shocked that Tiger would send such boring sexts. The man is breaking racial barriers and is a multi-millionaire! Tiger! We knew he could do better, so Matt and I hacked into Tiger’s phone* to see if there was anything more interesting, and we were not disappointed**.

Did you guys have a pleasant and normal Thanksgiving weekend? Mine was definitely regular. It was so regular I called it “Tiger,” because when I do normal, usual things I am being just like Tiger Woods.  You know what I mean? For example: I ate a bunch of turkey with the family, had some drinks, then got into an argument with my dad. You know how that can be, right? There’s just something about reuniting family combined with too many cooks in the kitchen (literally) and alcohol that tends to lead to little spats!

Meanwhile at the Plaza scribe and all around teen-sex-rom-com expert (we seem to have plenty around here) David H. Steinberg is back to loan us his expert knowledge in compiling the ultimate top 10 Teen Comedy Clichés. You don’t need to have written American Pie 2 or Slackers to recognize these classic characters (like David did), but it couldn’t hurt.

So we come back from having a Wholesome Thanksgiving with our Families, to find that you guys have gone ahead and made An Evening With Mike and Jessica at the King’s Head Inn the most played video on the site over Thanksgiving weekend. What, a guy hallucinating a lesbian stripper orgy was more interesting that your 15th helping of pie? Whatever.

And then today, teen sex comedy MEGASTAR David H. Steinberg’s new joint Meanwhile, At the Plaza dropped today, and let’s just say that it is a real envelope pusher.
