We arrived midday Wednesday to load in. As I pondered our nacho cheese supply, the floor was opened, and the Con was on! Check out the rest of our preview day adventuring.

Friday, the first full day of the convention, we were visited by Tommy Wiseau himself, protested by Westboro Baptist Church, and I discovered the best place to meet ladies.Saturday, the Legend of Neil crew came by to sign some autographs before we hosted our two panels.

First, we gave everyone a sneak peek of the first two episodes of The Legend of Neil to a packed house. The whole cast and crew were in attendance, and the crowd was crazy for them.

The House That Drips Blood On Alex premiered immediately after Neil to a standing ovation. The star of the film, Tommy Wiseau, was in rare form that evening.

After all the excitement that Saturday held, I think we were hoping for a mellow, typical day to wrap things up. Sunday is kid’s day, after all, how bad could it be? Maybe I’ll even have time to check out the YO GABBA GABBA! panel. WRONG.

We still had a ton of posters, bags, playing cards, and masks to hand out and after the smash-hit screenings of The Legend of Neil and The House That Drips Blood On Alex, demand was even higher.

It’s a feeding frenzy!

After handing out our last few posters depicting a raunchy 90′s nostalgia ridden web series and cult filmmakers covered in blood to doe-eyed children, we packed up and headed home.

Come on, who’d you think we’d start with? “The Legend of Zelda” is one of the best and most original games ever. So, you know the Princess was a hot piece of 8-bit ass.

Look closely (honestly, not that closely) and you’ll see a great appearance by Legend Of Neil creator Sandeep Parikh.

Since last year’s effort was so sprawling and academic, I thought this time I’d try something lighter.  Apparently there’s this new thing on the internet called “twittering” all the kids are doing.  I don’t expect many of you have heard of it.  It’s name comes from the root “twit”, which is also a clever acronym for “Truly Wasting Internet Traffic” (or possibly “Talking With Infatuated Toadies”).  It is the newest forum for hip internet luminaries like Tony Robbins, Bob Vila, Tony Danza and George Stephanopoulous.   Since this is apparently part of our dismal internet future, it’s high time I got used to working in that format.

So here you go, Atom.com.  Comic-con in no more than 140 characters at a time.  Let the twatting begin!

On trolley: Already overhearing discussions on “What if the trolley was a Transformer?”  I sense a long day ahead.

It’s not even 9 a.m. and people are visibly excited.  A little TOO excited.

As the train capacity approaches critical mass, I’m quietly regretting not bringing a vat of purel with me.  Not only is hygeine suspect, but I fear Fanboyism may be infectious.

An impromtu funeral procession with bagpipes.  Because why not?

I just found out the casket brigade is part of a Criss Angel promotion.  I thought I smelled douche!

Believe the hype.  A visit from the Pope only scores 3 out of 4 network news channels.

Overheard:  “I hate that Twilight show.  They try to make vampires all cool and werewolves totally suck.  Whatever!”

This quinfuckle wrap-around line represents people waiting for a presentation on Twilight for at least 1.5 days.  Spoiler: He’s a vampire.

Some guy gets so excited about a Captain Kirk joke that he spits on me as he talks.  Trek is actually making this guy drool.

Welcome to the greatest day in this Tween’s life.  Apart from when he discovered he could violate his gym socks.

Saw the new Jack Black game “Brutal Legend”, a metal-infused hack’n'slash platformer.  My PS3 preemptively melted from its mere mention.

Thomas Jane, star of “The Punisher”, is wearing sunglasses indoors while signing autographs.  Someone is on track to unseat Criss Angel as Douche Of The Convention.

This is the 2nd worst volunteer job at Comic-con.  Number one is still the guy in charge of making excuses to Kynt & Vyxsin for why their autograph line is so short.

World of Warcraft is releasing new trading card packs to “bring the MMORPG to the table”.  No one has bothered to ask Blizzard “Why the fuck would you want to do that?”

I just saw a 60 year old woman working security. “Elite Security” might want to rethink their brand.

Imagine how crushed he was to find out that Kenny G-Con wasn’t until next week

I’m grabbing a burger 4 blocks away at a mobster-themed restaurant and they still have Star Wars episode II on TV.  Amazing.

Braving the crowd and lines was well worth it. Creator Sandeep Parikh brought his star studded cast of web- celebs (including Tony Janning (Neil/Link), Felicia Day (fairy), Mike Rose (Old Man/Old Man), and Scott Chernoff (Gannon) to answer questions and be “ducking hilarious”.

Those lucky enough to attend were treated to the first three episodes of the new season (the first of which you can see here), including the rumored “musical” episode (fans have nick-named Gannon’s sing-a-long blog).

After an amusing intro in which cast members joked that the event was actually an intervention designed to slow Parikh’s alleged Comic-Con drinking binge, the Q and A following the screening moved quickly, with audience members and moderator Chris Albrecht (NewTeeVee.com) expertly quizzing the stars on their web hit.

Nuggets of knowledge:

•    Chernoff hinted that the shadowy Gannon will have a full reveal later in the season, and noted that it was about time

•    The series is about 70 percent scripted, 30 percent improv by the talented cast

•    The script was hatched in a hotel room by Sandeep and Tony during a weekend in Palm Springs

•    Janning’s shoulder tattoo is a nod to his late grandfather

•    The musical episode (#9, coming to Atom in August), was a fun way to get Neil through multiple “levels” of the game quickly

•    Mike Rose channeled his inner “grumpy old man” to play his Old Man character

The highlight of the session came when one fan acknowledged a deaf fan and his translator, noting that it was probably the only time sign language had been used to translate the term “finger cuffs” (a lyric from Day’s raunchy segment in the musical episode 9 (preview here).
