In case your subscription to Fast Company is a little behind (SPOILER ALERT) some familiar Atom.com faces grace its pages. The fine folks over at Fast Company profiled a bunch of web video industry players, including camp Atom. If you’re curious about our innermost secrets, you can check out the online article, or pick up an old fashioned print edition at your local news stand (they still have those, right?) to learn about all the great new companies and creators pushing the envelope in web video.

Oh boy. Day three of Comic-Con was amazing, with all of our panel talent gathering throughout the day at the Atom Booth as we prepped for our back to back screenings of the premiere of Season 3 of Legend Of Neil and The House That Drips Blood On Alex.

But before that we managed to relax a little bit with our friend, the Shoeless Stormtrooper:

Then, between making probably too many space marine related jokes on the Atom Twitter, it was just chaos at the booth. The lovely and seriously lovely co-star of The House That Drips Blood On Alex, iJustine stopped by the booth and tried a Tommy Wiseau mask on for size.

Then, as 7:30 approached, the line outside room 7AB started to form for the premiere of Legend Of Neil! Check out the recap right now of Season 2, to get caught up, cause Season 3 premieres tomorrow!

The panelists, series creator Sandeep Parikh, Tony Janning (Neil), Felicia Day (Fairy), Angie Hill (Zelda), Mike Rose (Old Man), Eric Acosta (Wizrobe), and Scott Chernoff (Ganon) line up with moderator Alex Albrecht from The Totally Rad Show for the premiere.

The fans in attendance got to see the first and second episodes of Season 3, with Neil taking the plunge back into Hyrule in the premiere episode and Ganon and Wizrobe plotting how to get Neil once and for all in episode 302. The Q&A was hilarious, with a great appearance from a hilarious special guest, the shield eating Like Like from the series.

And it went from one packed house to the next, as Tommy Wiseau and gang rolled in for The House That Drips Blood On Alex. The screening was absolutely bonkers, as the trailer would suggest:

People even showed up ready to rock with their Tommy Wiseau masks. Stop by the Atom Booth, 3445, today if you still want one!

The screening was bonkers, with moderator (and co-star) Joey Greco, and co-stars Justine Ezarik, and Alex creators Brock LaBorde, Jared Richard, Chris Trew (Studio 8) doing their best to contain and control the force of nature that is Tommy Wiseau. Afterwards, there was a minor league mob scene as Tommy signed autographs in the main hall.

For everyone who was unfortunate enough to miss this screening, The House That Drips Blood On Alex isn’t going to premiere on Comedy Central until closer to Halloween, but we’re looking into the possibility of doing an additional screening before then, so keep checking the blog for updates.

It’s been another hard day at Comic Con for the Atom crew. Giving away awesome swag, hosting autograph signings, and keeping you all updated with snarky tweets can really take it out of you. Though, we aren’t the only ones exhausted after a long day at the Con.

Even Batman needs some down time. They look so peaceful when they’re sleeping.*

A highlight of today was a visit from the Legend Of Neil Crew! They stopped by to sign some posters and mingle with their devoted fans.

We also had visits from the Ninja Babes From Space…

and Chewbacca! Andrew took the time to marvel at this young man’s attention to detail on Twitter today.

Later in the day I finally had some time to walk the floor. Good thing too, otherwise I would’ve missed my favorite Street Fighter, Zangif!

Why hasn’t Spike done a Deadliest Warrior on Street Fighter II? Get on it, bros!

Outside the convention hall was just as crazy as inside.

Looks like Syfy has partenered with Pixar for an UP! sequel (JK you guys, those are just two poor girls tied to giant balloons)

After that, I went to the TRON Legacy experience down town. I waited in line for 45 minutes to check this thing out. They lead you through an old arcade facade, down some hallways, and into this TRON room, which is pretty cool, but also felt a lot more like a Disco than being inside a video game world.

I kept worrying that Flynn was trying to roofie me.

The good folks at Tubefilter are curating a night they’re calling The Best Of The Web, and since The Legend Of Neil is on the bill, we’re not going to contest that claim. The screening is at 7:30 this Friday, May 7th at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and features heavy hitters from Funny or Die, Crackle, Fearnet.com and Strike.TV (including my own series, Mountain Man). Neil himself, Tony Janning, and director Sandeep Parikh will both be there in person to witness Neil on the big screen. Hit the jump for more info and a line up of the shows screening that night.

The guys of Legend of Neil (Sandeep Parikh and Tony Janning) hung out with Kristyn Burtt, host of the Web.Files, to talk moblins and stuff. As a web show about web shows, Web.files offers a great opportunity to peek behind the scenes of some of the biggest names online…

*…Which are all a little nerdy, like Legend of Neil, so I thought you might like them, but hey, you may not be a nerd, which is cool. There’s no judgment either way. I’m a nerd, all my friends are nerds.

Whatever. It’s cool, man.

“This was a really tricky episode to cast.  We had a friend in mind to play the role ever since we wrote it, my buddy Derek Mears but he became famous as Jason in the new Friday the 13th because he’s supremely talented and the timing didn’t work out.  So we really went on a hunt, we saw a bunch of talented dudes, but really the character had so many dimensions, it was really tough to find a complete package.  The guy had to be intimidatingly big, be able to play a real genuinely scary dude, have tremendous comedic timing, and be able to flip from a foppish british know-it-all to a molesty monster in a believable way.  Not an easy task for any actor.  Then 6′ 10″ Big Dave Mattey walked in the room and just nailed it with his audition.  Thank god.

The desert scene was again a pickup day that came a month after production and we drove out 2 and half hours to a joshua tree filled desert in order to grab that shot with a car full of Angie Hill, Tony Janning, Paul the camera op, Jeff our badass producer, and myself and we shot that scene.  It ended up looking really beautiful because of our color correctionist Aaron Moorhead, who did some insanely dramatic changes in the program Color to make it look really arid and brutal.”

“We shot this the in the same forest as a lot of exteriors in episode 1.  This was such a nutty day, it makes me hyperventilate a little even reliving it.  To be honest this was the only episode where I was just not sure would come out right.  There were so many variables considering we had to composite the fairy in, and it rained all over a lot of good takes, we shot a lot of Neil’s coverage without the Moblins there.  I was really nervous about the episode but then it turned out to be one of my favorites thanks to the magic of our VFX supervisor Sevan Najarian.  The dude, is truly a wizard… or wizrobe.”

“Finally a chance for Scott Chernoff and Eric Acosta (Gannon and Wizrobe) to really shine!  (And yes, I spell Gannon incorrectly on purpose bc in my version of LoZ that’s how it was spelled, look it up suckas).  This episode makes me really really regret not showing Scott sooner.  To be frank, we didn’t really have the budget to pull it off in season 1.  But now that you can finally see him, I think our audience will finally understand what a perfect villain we’ve got on our hands. Plus Jenn Rose our Makeup artist (who seriously is like someone I don’t think I can do this show without, she’s so damn talented, and so fun to work with) and our Costume Designer Jenny Green (ditto about her) really pulled out all the stops for Gannon, making him all the more menacing, vile, and hilarious.  I hope the readers are really starting to get an understanding of all the people that it takes to pull this show off.  It’s not just me and Tony and a bunch of actors.  There’s a hugely talented crew, and on top of that an amazing production team that’s making sure everyone is fed, everyone shows up on time, everyone signs the right forms.  Huge props to production (Nathalie, Gabe, Jeff), the unsung heroes of the set.”
