Well friends, it’s been a long road, hasn’t it?

A little over a year ago, we were a bunch of scrappy kids armed with nothing but a camera and a dream. Now? We’ve been on TV, we’ve earned cash, we’ve been decked out in swag.

Don’t despair. When God closes a Tournament, he leaves open an upload page. Yes, you can still upload videos to Atom. Heck, you can even tell us when you do. If it brings a nostalgic tear to our eye, a yearning for the days that were, or, if it’s…you know…funny, we might just feature it.

The second to last episode of a TV show is always kind of sucky, right? It’s not the finale, but it’s impossible to view it as a regular episode of the show. Well, this is the second to last time that I write one of these blogs, so I’ll save the sentimentality for next week*. Happy birthday to us! This is week 52 of the tournament, which means we’ve been writing some iteration of the phrase “cash, prizes and the chance to be on Comedy Central” once a week for a year. We’d like to dedicate this week’s post to Photoshop, which has made possible a barren and omnipresent wasteland of flawless billboard pod people whose pictures make it increasingly difficult to feel like a somewhat acceptable-looking human being if you happen to be the bearer of pores.

This week, we’re in limbo between our 50 week milestone and our one year anniversary! All around the limbo clock, hey, let’s do the limbo rock!

Happy 50th (week) anniversary, guys! Help yourself to a piece of cake and a pass at the chocolate fountain. Champagne is over there. Just don’t get too buzzed, because we are so not above plastering your sloppy mess all over the internet. On second thought, that could probably be pretty big. Get on it. We’ll be over here slow dancing to the sweet dulcet tones of the Atom Tournaments.

We sure ain’t foolin’ when we say this Tournament Contender has scored the first Atom Pick of April. That means tons of cash for spicybackpain, tons of babies shooting out of disembodied uteri for us. Money is cool, but I think we all know who the true winners are in this situation (us!*).

*April Fools!! (About the “us” part, not about the Atom Pick part, because seriously, how dickish would that be? Super dickish. But because this is the day of the prank, of lots of rib-tickling gotchya-ness, of rolling on the floor and holding your sides to stop yourself from bursting with unbridled joy and amusement at the utter hilarity of said pranks, we could be fooling about that, too. This could all be some elaborate, official-looking, dream-killing prank on just one member, spicybackpain, whose hopes we got up and then dashed upon the jagged rocks of reality. But we would never do that. Not us. Congrats, spicybackpain! You’re still a winner!)**
