Many submit but few are chosen in other words, not every submission is considered a finalist. All submissions are reviewed by our panel of judges for potential inclusion in the Fan Movie Challenge. We will contact all potential finalists by email, so make sure @atom.com is on your safe list.

Our distribution contract requires you to affirm and/or prove that you have the rights to use all of the creative elements in your movie. It also provides Atom and Lucasfilm the right to use the movie in all media channels, including the internet and television.

If the contract is signed by both parties and all of your paperwork and required clearance documentation is approved, then you're officially accepted into the Fan Movie Challenge, making you eligible for consideration to receive awards and recognition of little to no cash value.

• Short-form fan-made movies (preferably under 5 minutes in length).
• Parodies of the Star Wars universe, including the films, comics and books.
• Documentaries of the fan experience.
• "Fan Fiction"
• serious/dramatic movies which expand on the Star Wars universe.
• Use of official Star Wars action figures, books and other licensed Star Wars products, including the Star Wars Galaxies online game.
• International submissions

• Unauthorized use of any copyrighted material (artwork, photographs, music, etc.).
• A production or film that is subject to any collective bargaining agreement.
• The presence of any recognizable trademarks or logos (other than Star Wars).
• Films containing nudity, excessive swearing, explicit sexual themes and/or graphic violence may be considered ineligible at the sole consideration of Atom and/or Lucasfilm.

• You may include up to five Star Wars music cues TOTAL in your movie. A cue is a segment of music up to 59 seconds long. Not a minute long. Not a minute and half long. Fifty-nine seconds or less.
• Your music cues cannot be continuous. They must come from separate parts of the original music. For example, you cannot use one music cue from 00:01 - 00:59 seconds of the original song, and then use another cue from 01:00 - 01:59 from the same song.
• If you repeat the same cue 5 times, you've reached your limit. That type of usage counts as 5 cues. It doesn't count as one cue.

How To Enter The Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge:

1. Login or Sign up to become a Member of Atom.com Click the "Sign Up" or "Log In" link on the top of any Atom.com page.
2. Join the Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge group Go to Starwars.Atom.com or click the "Back to Group" button on the top of the page, then click the "Join Group" button on the right hand side of the page.
3. Upload your video to the Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge group You can upload your video directly from the Star Wars group page, by pressing the "upload now" button.

1. Go to your video's page.
2. Mouse over the "Community" button and then click on "My Groups".
3. The "Share with..." window will pop up. Find the Star Wars Group in the left column, click 'Add' and then 'Share'
