Description:
The old Central Railroad of New Jersey train station and ferry terminal. Commuters from Manhattan would take the ferry across the river to meet their trains which ran regular commuter routes throughout New Jersey, as well as long-distance journeys to Chicago, Washington, DC, and Philadelphia. The last train departed in 1954. Most of the immigrants who passed through Ellis Island boarded trains here to start new lives in the new world. Now this has been reclaimed as Liberty State Park. video at http://ournews.mobi/album.htm from Dr. Terrell Neuage http://neuage.org
