Sellers, on the other hand, want confidence that an offer reflects genuine intent before taking a domain off the market or moving forward with acceptance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help bring a little more clarity and confidence to this process, we\u2019re introducing a new feature on Atom called <strong>Committed Offers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Simple Way to Signal Serious Intent<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Committed Offers allow buyers to strengthen an offer by adding an upfront deposit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Importantly, <strong>nothing changes about the initial offer process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buyers can submit offers exactly as they do today. After submitting an offer, they have the option to upgrade it to a <strong>Committed Offer<\/strong> by adding a deposit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"866\" src=\"https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-1024x866.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12524\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-1024x866.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-300x254.png 300w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-768x649.png 768w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-1536x1299.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-2048x1731.png 2048w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-1920x1623.png 1920w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-720x609.png 720w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-580x490.png 580w, https:\/\/www.atom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-320x271.png 320w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If the seller accepts the offer, the deposit becomes non refundable and is applied toward the purchase price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the offer is not accepted, the deposit is automatically released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the seller\u2019s perspective, these offers are clearly marked as <strong>Committed Offers<\/strong>, giving an additional signal that the buyer is ready to move forward if the offer is accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>No Added Friction to Making an Offer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of our key design goals was to ensure that the process of making an offer remains simple and frictionless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The option to add a deposit appears <strong>after the offer has already been submitted<\/strong>, meaning buyers can always send an offer without any additional requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For buyers who want to demonstrate stronger commitment, upgrading to a Committed Offer provides a straightforward way to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sellers Can Also Request a Deposit During Negotiation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Standard Listings that use self-negotiation<\/strong>, sellers can also request a deposit during the negotiation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be helpful when a buyer expresses interest but the seller would like additional confidence before accepting an offer or taking the domain off the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When a seller requests a deposit, the buyer has the option to convert the discussion into a <strong>Committed Offer<\/strong> by adding the refundable deposit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with buyer-initiated deposits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>If the offer is accepted, the deposit becomes non refundable and applies toward the purchase price.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the offer is not accepted, the deposit is released.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This gives both sides a simple way to move negotiations forward with clearer signals of intent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Designed to Improve Negotiation Dynamics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Domain negotiations naturally involve a degree of uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For sellers, a committed signal can provide more confidence when deciding whether to accept an offer or continue discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For buyers, it offers a way to stand out and demonstrate serious intent in competitive negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is not to add barriers, but to provide an additional tool when stronger commitment is helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Happens Next<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Committed Offers are now live on Atom.
