At Atom, a lot of what we\u2019ve built over the years has been about reducing friction in how people find domain names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search got better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suggestions got smarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI started understanding intent, not just keywords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there\u2019s always been one step we haven\u2019t been able to remove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You still have to type something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in many cases, that\u2019s the hardest part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A small experiment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few months, we started exploring whether we could remove that step entirely.<\/span><\/p>

Not improve it. Not optimize it.<\/span><\/p>

Which led to a simple (and slightly uncomfortable)<\/span><\/p>

What if the search box wasn\u2019t needed at all?<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That work led to an internal prototype we\u2019re calling MindSearch<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How MindSea<\/strong>rch works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Instead of relying on explicit input, MindSearch attempts to interpret intent signals and translate them into naming directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a mix of pattern recognition, contextual inference, and language models trying to make sense of incomplete signals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In simpler terms, it tries to figure out what you mean before you say it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
