Buying a Domain on a Lease To Own (LTO) Plan
What Is a Lease to Own (LTO) Plan?
A Lease to Own (LTO) plan is a flexible way to purchase a domain by splitting the total cost into manageable monthly payments. Instead of paying everything upfront, you pay over time — and in most cases, you can start using the domain immediately after your first payment.

How LTO Plans Work
- Choose your plan duration. Depending on the domain, LTO plans are available for various lengths — some up to 6 months, others up to 24 months or longer.
- Make your first payment. As soon as you set up your LTO plan, your credit card is billed for the first month's installment.
- Start using your domain. Most domains are added to your Atom managed registrar account right away, so you can update DNS settings, set up email, and launch your website while the plan is still in progress.
- Pay monthly until complete. Your credit card is automatically charged each month until the domain is fully paid off.
- Own it outright. Once all payments are made, the installment lock is removed and the domain is fully yours. If it's already in your Atom managed registrar account, no further action is needed. If not, our team will reach out to help complete the transfer.

Key Benefits
Lower Upfront Cost
Pay a fraction of the domain's price to get started. The remaining balance is spread across monthly installments, making premium domains more accessible.
Use Your Domain Right Away
Once your first payment is verified, most domains are added to your Atom managed registrar account so you can update nameservers, configure email, and go live immediately. For domains not placed directly into an Atom managed registrar account, you can manage settings through the Transfer Center.
Cancel Anytime
Plans change — we get it. You can cancel your LTO plan at any time and you won't be charged for any future payments. Please note that installments already paid are non-refundable, and the domain will not be transferred to you if the plan is canceled before it's paid in full.
Pay Off Early, Anytime
Want to pay off your remaining balance ahead of schedule? Go for it — there are no early payoff fees.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I start using the domain before it's fully paid off?
Yes! Once your first payment is verified, most domains are added to your Atom managed registrar account where you can make changes and begin using the domain right away. For domains not added directly to an Atom managed registrar account, you can manage them through the Transfer Center.
What happens if I want to cancel my LTO plan?
You can cancel at any time by contacting us via email or 24/7 chat. Once canceled, you won't be charged for any future payments. Keep in mind that any installments already paid are non-refundable, and the domain will not be transferred to your ownership.
What if I miss a payment?
We automatically charge your credit card on each monthly due date. If a payment can't be processed, you'll have the option to update your credit card information or pay via bank transfer. A 10-day grace period applies — if payment is still not received by the end of that period, the LTO plan will be canceled.
Are there any extra fees on monthly payments?
In most cases, no. However, if you choose an extended plan of 12 months or longer, a small administrative fee may apply. If so, this fee will already be included in the monthly payment amount shown when you set up the plan — no surprises.
Can I pay off my balance early?
Absolutely! You can pay off your remaining balance at any time with no additional fees. Once paid in full, the installment lock is removed. If the domain is already in your Atom managed registrar account, you're all set. If not, our team will contact you to complete the transfer.
