Country Code TLD Marketplaces Have Arrived on Atom.com

At Atom, we’re always looking for ways to improve what we offer, push boundaries, and sell more domains.

That’s why we’re launching country-code TLD (ccTLD) marketplaces for local domains across five countries with a clear demand for ccTLD options. They are:

We created them because of a clear need for trustworthy buying platforms built for country-specific domains. This should mean new audiences for Atom.com’s domains, and expedited domain sales for the sellers who choose to list on the new marketplaces.

Why We Built The ccTLD Marketplaces

Recently, we conducted some research on TLD trust through AtomRadar. The results were extremely interesting – it turned out that people in the UK trust .co.uk domains as much as they trust .com domains.

When we reran the UK research with a larger pool of consumers – and asked people in Germany, India, Canada, and Australia the same question – we found that very strong trust in local TLDs is far from an isolated phenomenon. This means ccTLDs are an excellent option both for companies operating primarily in the relevant country, and for anyone trying to expand into international markets.

There’s huge demand for ccTLD domains and very few trusted local domain marketplaces. So, we’re creating a much-needed product for an underserved market.

People trust ccTLDs within the five countries where we’re launching our first marketplaces, and we’re providing a buying option with all the usual power of Atom.com, including:

  • Advanced search and discovery
  • Conversion-focused landing pages
  • Fast and easy payment options
  • Marketing and remarketing

The marketplaces are designed to be used by in-country buyers, with:

  • Targeted local marketing
  • Promotion to local entrepreneurs and business leaders through event sponsorships, influencer marketing, and more
  • Local currencies (coming soon)
  • Trusted local payment option (coming soon)
  • And more!

How Atom’s ccTLD Marketplaces Work

Our ccTLD Marketplaces accept all domains with the TLDs above, as long as they’re listed as Plus or Premium, with strong brandable domains offered more exposure through AI curation and advanced search and discovery. Additionally, real-Hindi-word .in and .co.in domains will be accepted to the India Marketplace and real-German-word .de domains will be accepted to the German Marketplace.
ccTLD Marketplace domains don’t require exclusivity, so you can list them on other platforms, but name servers must be pointed toward Atom.com. We also offer full pricing flexibility for ccTLD domains listed at the Plus level. If domains are also eligible for other marketplaces (such as Sapphire), they will be listed on both and receive the benefits of both. Find out more here, or start listing your ccTLD domains.
