RDAP Terms of Service

These RDAP Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Atom’s RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) service (the “Service”). By accessing or querying Atom’s RDAP endpoints, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

• “You” / “Your” means the individual or entity using the RDAP service (including via agents or automated means).
• “We”, “Us”, “Atom” refers to Atom Domains (or its affiliated registrar entity).
• “Service” / “RDAP Service” means Atom’s RDAP endpoints for domain registration data lookup, help/metadata lookups, or other supported RDAP query types.
• “Query” means a request (e.g. HTTP GET) to the RDAP service endpoint.

2. Acceptance / Binding Effect

By submitting any query to the Service, you accept these Terms and represent that you have authority to do so. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

3. Permitted Use & Usage Rules

• Permitted Purpose
  You may use the Service only for legitimate, lawful purposes, such as verifying public registration data, automated system integrations, or research. The Service is not intended to serve as a tool to harass, spam, abuse, or mass-scrape personal data.
• Rate Limits, Access Controls, Suspension
  • Atom may impose rate limits and quotas on query volume per IP, user, or account to protect system stability.
  • We reserve the right to delay, throttle, or block access from users or IPs that exceed acceptable use thresholds or appear abusive.
  • We may temporarily suspend or disable the Service (or parts of it) for maintenance or as needed for security.
• Restrictions / Prohibitions
  You must not:
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or court order
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or bypass Atom’s RDAP systems or security controls
  • Aggregate or automate queries in a way that impairs performance for others
  • Use RDAP output to aid unsolicited marketing, data mining, or harassment
  • Misrepresent identity or purpose when querying the Service

4. Disclaimers & Liabilities

• No Warranty; “As Is” Basis
  The Service and any data provided are offered “as is”, without warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement.
• Limitation of Liability
  To the fullest extent permitted by law, Atom (and its officers, employees, agents) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your access, use, or inability to use the Service—even if we had notice of such possibility.
• Third-Party Reliance
  Any third party relying on data obtained from the Service does so at their own risk. The data is informational only and does not substitute for legal, factual, or ownership verification.

5. Modifications & Termination

• Atom may revise or change these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will be posted on our site, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
• We may terminate or restrict your access to the Service, in full or in part, at any time and for any reason (e.g. abuse, service changes, legal constraint).

6. Miscellaneous Provisions

• Governing Law & Venue
  These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
• Severability
  If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder will remain in full force and effect.
• Waiver
  Atom’s failure to enforce any right or provision hereunder shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision in future instances.
• Assignment
  Atom may assign or delegate these Terms (in whole or in part) to an affiliate or successor. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without Atom’s prior written consent.
• Entire Agreement
  These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Atom regarding use of the RDAP Service and supersede any prior understandings or agreements, written or oral, concerning RDAP.
