Renting lets you use a premium domain for a monthly fee instead of buying it outright. You get exclusive use of the domain for as long as you keep paying — build a website, run email, launch campaigns — and you can buy it later if you decide to. It's a lower-commitment way to put a premium domain to work today.

The monthly rate is shown on each listing. It's set at 2% of the domain's Buy It Now (BIN) price for domains priced $5,000 and above, or a flat $100/month for domains under $5,000 — so a $25,000 domain rents for $500/month. Your rate rises 5% on each rental anniversary (see below).

Use the Rent filter in the marketplace to browse every domain currently available to rent. You can also spot them by the Rent button on an individual listing.

Any lawful business or personal purpose — a website, email, marketing campaigns, and so on. A few categories, such as gambling or adult content, may be allowed where they're lawful in every applicable jurisdiction, but because they can affect the domain and the seller's interests, Atom may require the seller's approval first and can decline or set conditions at its discretion. If you're planning a use like that, confirm it's approved before you build on it. You also can't sell, transfer, sublicense, or assign the domain or your rental rights to anyone else, and the domain can't be used for illegal activity, fraud, or abuse. Misuse can lead to suspension under Atom's Terms of Service.

Yes — anytime during your rental, and it's one of the biggest advantages of renting through Atom. Your purchase price is locked at the original BIN price from the day you start renting and won't rise, even as the domain's market value grows. Start a buyout from your dashboard; standard Atom marketplace commission applies, and ownership transfers once payment completes.

No. Rent covers your exclusive access for that month — it isn't a lease-to-own plan and isn't credited toward a purchase. If you buy, you pay the BIN price that was locked in on the day you started renting, no matter how many months you've rented. Rent already paid is non-refundable.

Your monthly rent rises 5% on each rental anniversary. Your locked purchase price does not change — it stays at the original BIN price for as long as the rental is active.

Yes. Once your rental begins, the domain is removed from the marketplace and the seller can't list or sell it to anyone else. It's exclusively yours for the life of the rental.

You get full DNS and nameserver management, so you control how the domain is used day to day. The domain stays securely with Atom and the seller remains its owner until you complete a purchase — ownership transfers to you only after a buyout.

Yes — autopay is required so your access stays uninterrupted and your exclusivity is protected. You can update your payment method anytime from your dashboard.

You have a 10-day grace period from the due date to resolve it. If payment still isn't received within those 10 days, the rental ends, DNS access is suspended, and the domain returns to the marketplace.

Yes. Canceling stops future renewals — you won't be charged again. Your current term runs to the end of the period you've already paid for, so you keep full access until then; we don't prorate or refund unused days. For example, if you cancel on day 8 of a monthly term, you keep the domain for the remaining days of that month, with no refund for them. When the paid term ends, DNS access is deactivated and the domain returns to the marketplace.

No. Atom is a technology platform and marketplace facilitator. Domain renting is a digital access and licensing arrangement between you and the seller — Atom is not a lender, leasing company, or financial services provider.
