At Atom, pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo is in our DNA. We’ve always believed that domains deserve more—more exposure, better discovery tools and a platform that elevates their potential through better presentation. Over the years, we’ve seen firsthand how the right level of advertising, presentation, and dynamic discovery tools can accelerate sales—not just for unique, made-up domains, but also for common one-word and two-word domains.

However, we recognize the challenges many sellers face when listing domains on a brandable marketplace. The decision isn’t always easy, particularly because it often involves higher-than-average commissions. On top of that, sellers might find themselves paying higher commissions to other platforms if their domains end up selling via the registrar path. In today’s uncertain economic climate, where sales can be unpredictable, it’s only natural for sellers to look for ways to minimize these costs.

Creating a Level Playing Field

Our goal is to create a level playing field where sellers can confidently test listing their domains in our Premium marketplace without the worry of higher commissions elsewhere if the domain sells via the registrar path. That’s why we’re taking action to back up our beliefs with real benefits.

Introducing the Commission Match Guarantee

Starting September 2, 2024, we’re launching the Commission Match Guarantee for premium domains. With this program, Atom will pay sellers 10% of the Atom BIN price (up to $300) if their domain ends up selling outside our platform on one of the Approved Selling Platforms. This initiative is designed to offset the additional commission costs you might incur elsewhere, giving you the freedom to list your domains on Atom while ensuring that you are able to list the domains across all major registrars.

This may seem counter-intuitive, especially considering that in the past, we charged a commission for off-platform sales. But now, we’re flipping the script and absorbing the risk ourselves because we strongly believe that the increased exposure on our platform can help accelerate sales for most domains.
