Most of that work happens on the inbound side. We invest significantly in search advertising, social campaigns, display and retargeting, AI-powered discovery, and distribution partnerships that bring millions of prospective buyers to your listings. That investment works, and it keeps growing.
But even the best marketing casts a wide net. It builds awareness across a broad audience and waits for the right buyer to step forward. What it can’t do is tap a specific company on the shoulder and say: this domain, for you, right now.
So starting today, we’re doing that too.
The Premium Listing Outbound Program flips the model. Instead of waiting for buyers to find select Premium Listings, our team identifies businesses that appear to have a genuine interest in acquiring them and reaches out directly.
How it works
We built an engine that analyzes market signals across the web: companies using similar branding, startups raising funding on Crunchbase, mobile apps built on related keywords, and other indicators that a domain has real commercial demand. AI helps us process these signals at a scale no manual process could match, surfacing domains with appeal to multiple potential buyers.
Behind it sits a CRM we built from the ground up with domains at its core. Off-the-shelf sales tools are designed to sell software subscriptions, not one-of-a-kind digital assets, so we built our own. It manages every outbound conversation and buyer relationship in one place, tracking each prospect from first touch through negotiation.
The technology does the data work and the heavy lifting. But every domain selected for outreach is reviewed by our team, every message is approved by a person, and every negotiation decision is made by a human. AI finds the opportunity. People make the call.
Outbound and inbound also feed each other. When a prospective buyer engages with our outreach, they don’t just get an email and silence. Our retargeting campaigns pick them up from there, keeping the domain in front of them across the web while they consider. One conversation becomes an ongoing presence.
What this means for sellers
The program is opt-in and works at the portfolio level. You can enable it from your Domain Signals page, where you can also exclude specific domains from outbound or leave the program at any time. There’s no extra cost, and any sales close through Atom checkout like a regular marketplace sale.
We’re starting deliberately small. For the first four to six weeks, our team will run outbound for a limited set of hand-picked, high-opportunity domains while we tune our signals, test our messaging, and learn what converts. As the results come in, we’ll steadily expand the number of domains in active campaigns. Not every domain will be selected, especially early on, and that’s by design. Focused outreach on the right domains beats mass email on all of them, every time.
Why we’re doing this
Atom exists to help great domains find the businesses that need them. We’ve built the inbound side: the traffic, the search, the discovery. Outbound completes the picture. We’d rather test bold ideas in the open than sit on them, and this is the next one.
And this is just the first phase. As the program matures, we’re exploring outbound in more channels beyond email, deeper buyer signals, and tighter loops between outreach and advertising. The engine we’ve built for this Beta is the foundation for something much bigger.
