Simplifying and Expanding Pricing Flexibility for Premium Listings

We’ve updated how pricing flexibility works for Premium listings on Atom, based on seller feedback and real buyer behavior.

The goal is simple: reduce friction for everyday pricing and expand flexibility for exceptional domains.

First, a quick clarification

This update applies only to Premium listings.

  • Standard and Plus listings remain unchanged and can already be priced freely
  • Premium listings benefit from curation and buyer trust signals, which is why pricing guidelines exist

What’s changing

1. Full Pricing Flexibility up to $10,000 for all Premium Domains

All sellers can now price any approved Premium domain up to $10,000, regardless of:

  • approval value
  • membership tier
  • previous percentage-based limits

Below $10K, there are no multipliers, no tier-based caps, and no additional approvals.

2. Expanded pricing flexibility above $10,000

For pricing above $10,000, sellers get more flexibility than before, based upon membership tier:

  • Silver: up to approved price
  • Gold: up to approved price
  • Platinum: up to approved price

This gives sellers of high-quality Premium domains more headroom than before to price exceptional assets.

A note on pricing and sell-through

While this update gives sellers more flexibility, pricing still plays a meaningful role in outcomes.

Listing a domain significantly above its approved value or typical market range may reduce buyer interest and lower sell-through rates. Approval values and pricing guidance remain visible to help sellers make informed decisions.

In short: more flexibility, but the market still decides.

Why we made this change

Below $10,000, we see much less price elasticity:

  • Buyers expect a wider range of pricing
  • Pricing differences are less likely to turn buyers away
  • Sellers benefit from flexibility to test conviction

At the higher end, pricing discipline still matters, but increased multipliers allow sellers with strong approvals to better reflect conviction for truly premium domains.

What this means in practice

  • Everyday Premium pricing is now simpler and frictionless
  • Higher-priced Premium domains have greater upside than before
  • Pricing flexibility is clearer and more consistent
  • Standard and Plus listings remain fully flexible and unaffected

We’ll continue to simplify our policies and systems to reduce friction, reflect real buyer behavior, and make it easier for sellers to succeed on Atom.
